“Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.”
Kris is a believer in high intensity interval training (HIIT). It's an excellent way to train whether you're looking to lose weight or tone up and gain lean muscle and endurance. It consists of high intensity intervals with short breaks in between that build endurance, burn calories and fat at a faster rate, and boost metabolism and lean muscle mass. His workouts are full-body exercises with a focus on form to increase efficiency and get you results. You go at the pace and level you're comfortable with and are always assured a challenging and fun workout, all in the comfort of your own home!
In fitness circles, there's a famous saying coined by Gray Cook, "First move well...then move often." Our bodies need to move and work functionally and optimally so we can go through life feeling good. That's hard to do with all the hours we spend sitting down at work and driving for sometimes hours a day (EVERY DAY if you live in L.A. County!). And as we age and battle the effects of poor posture and sitting habits, it is vital that we get our bodies right! Sure, Kris wants to get you in shape but he wants to do it the right and safe way! To accomplish this, Kris conducts a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) with all new clients, putting them through 7 basic movement patterns to assess mobility deficits, motor control, inefficient use of compensatory biomechanics, and potential for future injuries. With the findings of the assessment, Kris makes exercise programs with precision and purpose.
For many of his clients' workouts, Kris uses the RMT Club and Bosu Elite created by David Weck. These are unique exercise tools specifically designed to improve functional strength, rotational power, mobility, coordination, core strength, conditioning and balance. They are excellent training tools for all athletes, especially golfers, tennis players, and baseball players who will be amazed at how these tools enhance their performance!
Kris is not your drill sergeant type of trainer. You won't be hearing, "Drop and give me 20!!" yelled at you. That being said, he will challenge you! He believes the best results come from a healthy, positive and supportive environment and that's what he brings to his sessions.
